Ridge Country Retreat was created in 2002 with the building of the main lodge. The vision was to provide a place of sanctuary away from the hectic and stressful existence that many of us identify as normal living. Included in the main lodge were two beauty rooms for those desiring to indulge in spa treatments. Seven chalets, we call "villas", were added in 2009. At the same time, a bore was drilled to extract geothermal water from an aquifer 525m below the surface. This water provides heating to the villas and feeds into the villa outdoor baths, stone pool and main pool.
In 2019, an extensive period of construction saw the addition of a manager's apartment, two more beauty rooms, a massive conservatory and a complete makeover of the outdoor pool area.
